Upcycling: Zu kostbar für die Tonne

The increasing awareness that Earth's resources are limited has created a new trend: "recycling" is the magic word. "Worthless" becomes "precious," and "old" becomes "beautiful." In the process, amazing, surprising, and wonderfully crafted artworks emerge.

In their book "Upcycling," Katharina Heinrich and Christine Rechl show how to creatively and joyfully repurpose old items, with an eye for the potential of materials, transforming them into homemade, original gift and decoration ideas.

Not everything has to be perfect; Shabby-Chic is in style: Imperfection is charming and unique. Approximately 30 projects are presented, ranging from candles and paper flowers to tea light stars and refrigerator magnets, from ribbons and hair ties to room and garden decor, from toilet paper roll mandalas to Victorian Christmas decorations.
